ProRend Float
ProRend Float is a high quality factory manufactured dry mortar especially suited to masonry substrates such as blockwork with normal suction.
Ideal Substrates
- 7kN blockwork
- 3.5kN blockwork
- New sand and cement
Note that Float should not be combined with Rapid in any circumstances.
Features & Benefits
- Lightweight lime sand cement render
- Hand or machine applied
- Ideal substitute for traditional sand and cement avoiding on-site mixing and gauging
- Suitable basecoat for all ProRend decorative renders or masonry paint
- Can be smooth finished, sponge textured or keyed to receive a subsequent coat
Do I need ProMesh with this?
Subject to the written specification, ProRend Float is compatible with ProMesh Grade 5

Technical Datasheet
| Description/ Useage- |
ProRend Float is suitable for application on dense concrete clock and sound masonry backgrounds, indoors as well as outdoors. It can be either a smooth finish, sponge texture or keyed. |
| Colour- | Grey |
| Application- | |
| Site Work- |
Scaffolding must be tied independently to allow uninterrupted application. Any faults in the structure must be rectified. |
| Site Conditions- |
Do not apply when substrate/ air temperature is below 5oC or above 30oC. Protect areas before and after application. |
| Substrates- |
ProRend Float can be applied on to all sound supporting masonry backgrounds. Background has to be free from frost, dust, loose particles, damp and other pollution which can interfere. |
| Preparation- |
All surfaces must be dry, sound, clean, reasonably smooth and free from loose material, oil and grease. Protect fresh render work against weather influences. |
| Render Application- |
Mix dry ProRend Float with tap water. Apply by hand or machine in one or several layers, depending on the desired thickness. Allow every layer to harden and dry. Each layer must not be thicker than 20 mm. Protect fresh render against rapid drying. Allow minimum layer thickness of 10-15 mm. |
| Coverage- |
~ 1.25 kg/m2 for each mm thickness. |
| Curing/ Drying- |
Curing with clean water may be necessary during rapid drying conditions. |
| Protection- |
Cover parts which do not have to be treated with paper and tape. Remove directly after applying the primer. |
| Cleaning- |
All equipment must be cleaned immediately after use with water. Waste material should not be emptied into any drainage system. |
| Packaging- |
25 kg paper bag 40 bags per pallet |
| Storage- |
ProRend Float can be kept for ~6 months if stored in clean, dry conditions. |
